I had no idea this would still be an issue. But baby girl, smart as she is, is still struggling with potty training. We are much closer than we have been, however. She is not having many accidents and we have just added the final challenge to the process-nighttime. She is wearing a pull up at night and has gone 2 nights keeping it dry! Hallelujah! This entry is really more for my future potty training days with John Mills.
Avery has also taken up climbing lately! Ugh. So not happy about our future ER visits for a broken arm. I know it's coming eventually.
John Mills is slowly dropping feedings in the middle of the night. We are down to about 6 ounces at 1 am. This is huge news! He is also beginning to put himself to sleep. We are hopefully on the road to sleeping through the night. It's been an arduous process, and I am seriously tired, but after many prayerful nights, we decided that crying it out was not the answer for John Mills. It seemed to work for about 2 nights ad then we would revert back to the old way. That's what happened with Avery too. So. We wait. For him to develop the skills on his own with some light coaching. I have a lighter conscience knowing we are doing the very best for him even though it isn't easy on anyone. I know it's not for every family, or every baby, and that this topic is very touchy. But I have faith that it is right for us. And that one night, I will sleep 8 hours at a time again!
In feeding news, he is eating everything and anything he can mash up with his little gums and 2 teeth. The kid LOVES to eat! I just crack up when feeding him, he grunts in between bites, when I'm not spooning it in fast enough.
I had no idea our family was incomplete without John Mills. TJ and I are so blessed to have such wonderful and quirky children! Have a great weekend friends!
