Our weekend in photos

Zoo!

I wish I had remembered to bring my phone into the Parakeet Cage as Avery was swarmed by a vast array of colored birds and her giggles made them flap more and harder and land on her arms.  

But I forgot.  

I wish I had thought to snap a quick shot of John Mills laughing at Avery laughing at the elephants as they sprayed mud on their backs to keep from getting sunburned.  

But I didn't.

I wish I had a video of the rhino submerging himself as best he can because he is hot and bothered by all the gawking that goes on in his "wilderness".

But I don't.

I do, however, have these memories in my mind, and the good sense to remember to write them down here.  On my favorite forum for keeping up with my children.  AND, I did take some pictures while the kids were swinging at the zoo park with no animals in sight.  Which they could do in their own backyard or at any playground in the world.  Except our backyard has squirrels and labrodoodles. Oh well.  This motherhood thing is harder than it looks.  And I have it easy!

Weekend antics

John Mills was baptized yesterday and of course I took no photos. I will post the video when I get it uploaded. Here are the photos I did manage to get!

Thursday

What a weekend!

It was a very relaxing weekend at the mill.  We played in the tent...

Took some look a like photos (TJ Jr. here)...

Rolled around the porch...

Soaked up some sun (and loved on my son)...

Road the Ranger in a pouch...

took a self portrait and got a haircut...

smiled...

went and worked in the woods with GiGi...

And got scared and had to come back to the house!  Overall, a seriously good weekend.  Must have more of these soon!

A John Mills update at 4.75 months

My big boy is growing and changing so fast I can hardly keep up:
1. Rolling both ways
2. Eating from a spoon (green beans, carrots, squash, sweet potatoes, bananas, and peas) loves it all! Also got his first teething biscuit. He screamed when I took it away. He gummed the whole thing!
3. Finally slept through the night!!!
4. Coos, giggles, tries to talk (I will get the video posted one day)
5. Can tripod (almost sit up unassisted)
6. Is no longer swaddled
7. Loves music, voices, and toys
8. Is taking 2 good naps and 2 catnaps a day
9. Sleeps from 10-8 (with one 5am feeding)
10. Loves his sister and all her silly noises
11. Is about to get a tooth
12. Almost never cries and is the happiest little guy you have ever seen!
We are smitten!
